Speakers share stories of resilience at Coeur d’Alene event featuring Ruby Ridge survivor, U of I victim’s mother, Pastor Tim Remington

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – A community event featuring speakers who have faced high-profile tragedies will be held Sept. 6 at The Altar in Coeur d’Alene.

The lineup includes Sara Weaver, Cara Kernodle and Tim Remington.

Weaver is the daughter of Randy and Vicki Weaver, whose family was involved in the 1992 Ruby Ridge standoff in northern Idaho. The standoff, which followed a federal investigation into firearms charges, led to the deaths of Weaver’s brother Sammy, her mother Vicki, Deputy U.S. Marshal William Francis Degan and the family dog. The case became one of the most controversial incidents in Idaho history and helped fuel anti-government sentiment nationwide.
