MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A suspect dragged an officer while attempting to flee during a traffic stop on Saturday, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) said.
Officers were in the area of Peres and Hollywood when they saw a tan Honda Accord with a driver not wearing a seatbelt and failing to use a turn signal.
The officers then initiated a traffic stop and checked the suspect's information, whose driver's license had been revoked. Police told the suspect to get out of the car, which the suspect did.
MPD reported that while an officer was trying to place handcuffs on the suspect, the suspect tried to get away by running back into the car while the officer was holding onto the suspect. The suspect started driving the car, dragging the officer along.
