SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT — The Little League World Series is a great example where people who have different views find commonality, Gov. Josh Shapiro says.
The governor and his son, Reuben, 13, made their second visit to the series in three years Sunday and watched Taiwan defeat Las Vegas, Nevada, 7-0, to win the world championship.
“One of the things that brings a community together is sports,” the governor said at a pre-game news conference.
Recognizing that people are living in times where they feel real division, he said, sports are one of the unique things that bring a community together.
“I think this sporting event is a great example of creating a space where people who ordinarily would not be having a dialogue are getting the opportunity to talk,” the governor said.
“Whether it’s
