WEST RICHLAND, Wash. – The SR 224 Red Mountain Vicinity Improvements Project in West Richland continues to face delays due to the ongoing Operating Engineers Local 302 strike.

According to a city press release , the contractor’s schedule anticipates a return of workers on Tuesday, August 26, but this hasn't been confirmed.

Apollo Construction is continuing to manage the project site and detour routes during this period.

Meanwhile, Ziply Fiber is progressing with their relocation work between Grosscup Blvd and the CID canal, having completed most of the trenching and boring, the city said.

In the coming months, Apollo plans to remove existing surfaces and grade the site for a new roundabout at the Ruppert Rd/Belmont Blvd/SR 224 intersection.
