One person has died and four others are injured after a driver missed a curve in the road and crashed into a tree in Newtown early Sunday morning, according to police.
Emergency crews responded to a crash on Berkshire Road near Zoar Road around 2:40 a.m.

Investigators said a 2017 Ford Mustang GT was going westbound on Route 34 (Berkshire Road) and missed a left curve in the road near Zoar Road.
After missing the curve, police said the vehicle went off the westbound side of the road and crashed into a large tree.
Authorities said one person was killed in the crash. She has been identified as 19-year-old Mary Cordero, of Danbury. Investigators believe she was sitting in the rear middle seat of the vehicle at the tim
