Meriden police have arrested a man who is accused of stabbing his girlfriend and driving his vehicle into her.

The investigation started around 11:09 p.m. on Saturday, May 3 when officers responded to a report of an assault in the back parking lot of the North Tower at 55 Willow St.

The woman had been stabbed and had serious injuries, police said, and she was transported to Hartford Hospital.

The Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation.

Police said investigators found surveillance footage of the woman and a man arguing and he assaulted her, took items from her and drove his vehicle into her before stabbing her.
