PosiGren Solar Company said they've laid off nearly all of their employees in Connecticut due to significant financial difficulties.

PosiGen Developer LLC said 78 workers were laid off from their Shelton, Danbury and Wethersfield locations on Sunday.

The company issued a WARN notice , saying one or more of their locations will be permanently closed.

They're hoping to obtain sufficient financing from a lender to continue operations. If they can't, PosiGen Developer LLC intends to shut down all operations and close all of their facilities, according to the notice.

After the layoffs, only eight employees remain. They will keep their jobs through Sept. 13, the company said.
