Teaching people to potentially save a life. CPR classes are being offered at New Haven libraries to give people the skills to act if they see someone in cardiac arrest.

As compressions follow the beats of the beeps, people at the New Haven Library are getting a hands-on experience with CPR.

“I will understand how fast to go and just how to do it in general,” Shaniya Butler, of New Haven, said.

For her, it was a refresher course to stay on top of her skills.

“I work in a hospital, so I already have my certification, but I think everyone should know how to get CPR certified because you never know,” Butler said.
