FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A wildfire burning above Pine Flat in Fresno County is triggering new evacuation alerts as it continues to jump in size in the Sierra National Forest.
The Garnet Fire has prompted evacuation orders across multiple rural zones as firefighting crews work to slow the spread of the blaze.
According to CAL FIRE, the blaze began at 2:13 p.m. near Rodger's Ridge, south of the Garnet Dike area. As of Tuesday evening, the fire has consumed an estimated 9,159 acres with 0% containment.
Evacuation orders have been issued for zones KK30, K31, K32 and K40, while residents in zones K28, K29, and K120 are under evacuation warnings and urged to remain alert if conditions worsen. Those under evacuation orders are facing an immediate threat and are being told to leave.
