SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- San Diego Police are searching for a suspect after a man was found with a gunshot wound to the leg Sunday evening.

The San Diego Police Department reports officers responded around 6:55 p.m. to calls for shots fired on National Avenue near Chollas Creek in San Diego.

When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken to the hospital with what police report are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Police do not have a suspect in custody at this time.

The shooting is under investigation.
