Another chance at a title for the Calgary Surge …
Another year coming up short from the Canadian Elite Basketball League’s Championship Weekend.
And this one likely hurts the most for the local franchise, after coming up just a few buckets shy of what’s become an elusive crown to capture in its three years of existence.
“Every loss is a heartbreak,” Surge veteran guard Sean ‘Rugzy’ Miller-Moore told reporters moments after the 79-73 defensive finale won by the Niagara River Lions at Winnipeg’s Canada Life Centre.
“Even when we lose in the regular season, it’s a heartbreak,” continued Miller-Moore. “Of course, this was the last game and the last time I’m gonna be with this particular group, so it hurt more.
“But we were a good team all season, and we just came up short.”
