Two agencies are teaming up to better achieve their larger goal of curbing Tulsa’s homelessness crisis.

A new partnership between Counseling & Recovery Services of Oklahoma and John 3:16 Mission, the Momentum Program was officially announced last week.

The program was conceived, officials said, as a way to better combine shelter services with behavioral health and substance use disorder services, giving homeless clients a better chance at achieving and sustaining independence.

Steven Whitaker, John 3:16 CEO, said: “We’re all in on recovery at John 3:16. That’s who we are. So this partnership was just a no-brainer with an organization like Counseling & Recovery.”

Program participants must be men age 20 or older.
