(TNS) A Harlan County man faces multiple charges after police say he shot at officers who responded to a domestic dispute in the Eastern Kentucky town.

Stacey Huff, 51, is charged with fourth-degree assault and two counts of attempted murder of a peace officer after a police standoff Saturday night.

The Harlan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home in the Closplint community where a “highly intoxicated” Huff was holding family members at knifepoint, police said.

Huff also threatened the family with a gun, and when police responded, they found his family members walking across a bridge near the home.

Deputy Jesse Howard and Evarts Assistant Police Chief Bryan Napier identified themselves to Huff, who then shot at the officers. Neither officer was injured, police said.
