Izaiah Wright was battling an injury for most of the football season in 2024.

At some points, the Gibraltar Carlson star was a shadow of his normal self.

That shadow was still pretty good.

Wright fought through the pain to run for 957 yards and 13 touchdowns.

That gave him more than 3,500 yards and 50 TDs for his career.

“One of the top backs in the state,” Carlson coach Jason Gendron said. “A true power back with breakaway speed, Izaiah is a game-changer every time he touches the ball.”

Purdue agreed with Gendron’s assessment, reaching a deal to make Wright a Boilermaker next season.

This fall, he will concentrate on completing his phenomenal career at Carlson.

Wright leads an outstanding group of offensive players in the Monroe County Region this season.
