President Donald Trump will attend the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black next month, he announced on social media, marking his first visit to Long Island since taking office in January.

"It will be a great Ryder Cup. At the invite of the PGA Tour, I will be there on Tournament Friday!!!," Trump wrote in a Truth Social post Saturday night.

Held every two years, the three-day men’s golf tournament features top players divided into European and U.S. teams. In 2023, the competition was hosted in Rome. On Friday, Sept. 26, golfers will tee off from the famed Black Course at Bethpage State Park to start the three-day tournament.

Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman said on a podcast in June that he had encouraged Trump to attend the Ryder Cup at Bethpage.
