LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Kentucky State Fair wrapped up its 11-day run Sunday, Aug. 24.

For cattleman Adam Miller, the last day of the Fair meant he was down to the wire.

The pressure was on, but after 19 fairs, he knew the drill. Getting cows ready is second-nature, he said.

“Winning's great and everything, but hanging out with everybody and enjoying each other's company and making friends and raising our kids; my little 3-year-old loves this stuff," Miller said.

At the health section, the American Red Cross said its booth encouraging Kentuckians to donate blood paid off. The organization said it passed its goal of collecting 35 units of blood a day.
