A Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) whistleblower has revealed Universal Credit claimants suspected of fraud are still getting approved despite failing checks 10 times.
The benefits bill is expected to hit £303billion this year - almost a quarter of Labour Party government spending. A call handler told the Telegraph appplicants were able to reapply even if they were rejected numerous times from receiving incapacity benefit.
The DWP employee said: "They keep going and going. I see cases where people have failed checks nine or 10 times, but they stick at it and then they're on the gravy train."
