TUSCARAWAS COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - The Tuscarawas County Sheriff, officials with the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District, and the Tuscarawas County Coroner will hold a news conference Monday afternoon regarding the weekend tragedy at Atwood Marina West.

Around 10:30 a.m. Saturday, an Amish mother allegedly drove a golf cart into the lake with her three teenagers, a 15-year-old daughter and 18-year-old twin sons, on board.

The teenagers got out of the water on their own and were not injured.

Rangers and deputies responded to the scene and helped the mother, but according to Tuscarawas County Sheriff Orvis Campbell the mother was allegedly making concerning statements about conversing with God.

“It was evident that the crash into the water was intentional by the mother,” said Sheriff
