Carson City planning commissioners Wednesday will consider a special use permit and tentative subdivision map for 92 townhomes at the southeast corner of Silver Oak Drive and GS Richards Boulevard.

The meeting starts at 5 p.m. in the board room of the community center, 851 E. William St.

The 6.2-acre property is zoned retail commercial and located within the Silver Oak Planned Unit Development. An apartment complex proposed for the site was granted a special use permit in 2023 and a SUP extension in 2024.

“A request for a 178-unit multifamily development with a density of 27.8 dwelling units per acre was previously approved at the site (LU-2022-0492), however there have not been any permits submitted to establish the use and the site remains undeveloped,” according to a staff report. “S
