FARGO – Nate Tatad is living out a lifelong dream as part of the Bison football team. And that’s not a cliche.

The 6-foot-5, 285-pound offensive lineman has envisioned himself as a member of the team for over a decade. His mom Cynthia took a picture of Nate in a Bison jersey and helmet, watching former All-American Kyle Emanuel take apart Sam Houston State in the 2013 FCS Championship Game.

Now, Tastad is in line to be starting in NDSU’s season opener Saturday at The Citadel. It’s been quite the jump from 9-man football in Rolette, North Dakota.

“Going from a 160-pound defensive tackle to Jaxon Duttenhefer is a little bit of a difference,” Tastad said. “But you get used to it pretty quick. Definitely a difference in the speed was just night and day, for sure.”
