LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
A man is accused of hitting a person with his car at the Kentucky State Fair.
A little after 5 p.m. Saturday, Kentucky State Police say 71-year-old Richard Schroer of Louisville was driving on the Circle of Champions when he drove up on the sidewalk.
KSP said he was trying to drive around workers when a person tried to stop him by grabbing onto one of the car's mirrors.
Police said Schroer continued driving and knocked down another person, injuring them.
Schroer drove on and failed to stop and help the person he hit, police said.
He has been charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree assault, leaving the scene of an accident with failure to render aid, and first-degree possession of a controlled substance.
He was released from jail without bond.
