A Wednesday conference will dive into the stigma of drug abuse, featuring a former NFL quarterback as the keynote speaker.

The Regional Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention — more commonly known as simply RASAP — will host the yearly event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research.

It’s free and open to the public, but registration is required .

With the theme “Support Over Stigma: Advancing Drug Misuse Prevention Together,” Ryan Leaf is scheduled to talk about his experience with what’s described as drug misuse and incarceration.

The address is called “Lying to Myself: The Ryan Leaf Story.”

As a motivational speaker, Leaf draws from his past in what his website states as “professional downfall to personal redemption.”
