A suspect is behind bars for the murder of comedian Reggie Carroll , who was gunned down last week in Mississippi, police in Southaven said.

The Baltimore-based entertainer was 52.

Carroll was shot last Wednesday, and police released his identity on Saturday , though not much else because the investigation was still ongoing. Police confirmed that they had been called to an isolated shooting and found “one male victim suffering from gunshot wounds,” the Southaven Police Department said in a statement. “The officers and medical personnel provided life saving techniques, but the individual succumbed to his injuries.”

Police had not named the suspect as of Monday morning, but said they had made an arrest.
