TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - The second week of Donna Adelson’s murder trial began with a deep dive into the bitter divorce and custody dispute prosecutors claim serves as the grandmother’s motive to orchestrating a murder-for-hire of her former son-in-law.

Chief Assistant State Attorney Georgia Cappleman called her colleague, investigator Jason Newlin, to the stand.

The two spent about an hour walking the jury through a number of the documents filed during Dan Markel’s divorce with Wendi Adelson. The State then showed emails between Donna and Wendi to show Donna’s active role in strategizing her daughter’s custody dispute.
