BENTON HARBOR, Mich. (WNDU) - As Benton Harbor schools welcome students back to the classroom today, the district is also welcoming a new superintendent.
Dr. Simone Griffin started in July . She replaces Dr. Kelvin Butts, announced he was stepping down last March.
She says one of her goals is to expand the CTE program and offer more electives for the high school. That includes more fashion, radio, TV and performing arts electives!
“We are building up a robust English Language Learners program so that we can provide services and support and education to our ELL families in our community and surrounding suburbs,” Dr. Griffin says.
Dr. Griffin is also creating something called the Superintendent Advisory Council across several grades.
