The Dodgers began the week with a two-game lead in the National League West, and had to rally on Sunday to escape the week with a first-place tie. Inconsistent play meant a split against the lowly Rockies at Coors Field, and the offense was nearly nonexistent all weekend at Petco Park before a last-chance power drive to pull out of San Diego with a win.
Freddie Freeman hit two of the Dodgers’ four home runs to salvage Sunday’s series finale against the Padres, and for the week led the team in hits, runs, RBI, home runs, and extra-base hits.
