VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) -- The largest school district in Hampton Roads went back to class Monday morning. Students all over Virginia Beach are starting the new year, and for one local boy, this morning was a milestone in his recovery.
The first day of school can be nerve-wracking for parents and students, but Landyn Davis told us he was excited.
Last February, police said three men fired more than 20 bullets while on Peele Court — one of which went through a home and struck Landyn in the head. A year and a half later, he is ready for his first day of fifth grade.
