Two people aboard a small plane from San Carlos Flight Center in San Mateo County safely made an emergency landing on Saturday afternoon in a field in Wilder Ranch State Park in Santa Cruz County.

Firefighters from Cal Fire’s San Mateo-Santa Cruz Unit (CZU) responded to the 7,000-acre coastal park situated west of the city of Santa Cruz after the emergency landing at about 11:55 a.m., according to Cal Fire and flight tracking records from FlightAware.

The plane lost power during a training flight over Scotts Valley, according to Cal Fire.

The plane after took off from San Carlos Airport, where the flight school San Carlos Flight Center is based, at 11:13 a.m.

A request for comment from the school’s owner was not returned by press time.

There were no injuries and no damage to the plane
