GREENBELT, Md. (DC News Now) -- Kilmar Abrego Garcia is at the center of a new lawsuit against the Trump administration, wherein his legal team questions the legality of his potential deportation to Uganda, citing fears of persecution.

After returning home to his wife and children in Maryland late last week, he was detained at ICE's Baltimore Field Office on Monday, Aug. 25.

While ICE is holding Kilmar Ábrego García and keeping his lawyers in the dark as to what is next for him, Administration officials continue to spread lies about the facts in his case.
