WASHINGTON COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Investigators charged a 16-year-old boy after he allegedly broke into multiple vehicles in Washington County over the weekend and set one of them on fire.

Shortly before 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 24, responders were sent to the 25000 block of Lake Wastler Drive in Cascade after a passerby reported that a truck was on fire. Once there, crews found a 1995 Ford F-350 engulfed in flames.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, putting the flames under control in just minutes.

Authorities opened an investigation, and upon reviewing surveillance video, discovered that a 16-year-old boy not only set fire to the truck but also broke into "multiple vehicles" in the area, according to the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal.
