WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa. —
The man who robbed an 87-year-old veteran and stole his car with his dog inside has been sentenced to at least 14 months in prison.
On Monday, Pittsburgh's Action News 4 learned Kenneth Crider pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 14 months to ten years in prison. Advertisement
Crider was accused of a series of crimes involving theft, high-speed chases, and the mysterious disappearance of a beloved family dog, Lucky.
Crider was apprehended in North Carolina in September of 2024 after leading Nash County deputies on a high-speed multi-county chase that reached over 130 miles per hour.
During the pursuit, police allege Crider struck a deputy’s vehicle. At the time of his arrest, Crider claimed he had left Lucky at a service station along I-95 in North Carolina,
