Week 1 just got even tougher for the Giants .
Star wide receiver Terry McLaurin agreed Monday to a three-year, $96 million contract extension with the Washington Commanders, according to ESPN , putting him back on track to face the Giants in the Sept. 7 season opener.
The agreement ends a hold-in for McLaurin, who sat out of numerous team activities, including skipping the first week of training camp, as he pursued a new deal.
McLaurin, who turns 30 next month, led the Commanders last season with 1,096 receiving yards — his fifth year in a row with at least 1,000 — and caught a career-high 13 touchdowns.
The two-time Pro Bowler had been entering the final year of a three-year, $70 million contract.
McLaurin is a go-to weapon for 24-year-old quarterback Jayden Daniels, who is ent
