GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - The City of Grand Island is making final preparations on the proposed budget for the 2026 fiscal year.

The City Council met with several department heads Thursday night to discuss capital projects and equipment and need for personnel. The conversation was largely about some of the bigger projects planned for the City.

The budget presentation was done a little differently this year, compared to previous years. This year, a 12-month budget was proposed instead of a six month budget, and Assistant City Administrator Pat Brown said he hopes this reorganization will help the budget process for next year.
