ALAMEDA — Traffic remained impacted Monday morning as crews completed repairs and repaving after a Sunday night water main break that caused some customers to lose service, officials said.
The break to the 12-inch cast iron pipe that was installed in 1942 happened about 7:30 p.m. Sunday near Webster Street and Buena Vista Avenue, resulting in some sink holes and flooding.
The impacted area included Buena Vista and Webster to the Alameda Landing area and Alameda Point, city officials said. Some East Bay Municipal Utility District customers experienced low pressure while others had no water, officials said.
Webster Street was initially closed from Atlantic to Pacific avenues.
