SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Savannah High and Beach High School's scheduled football game did not come to a completion Friday night due to a fight that led to the remainder of the game being canceled.
According to a Savannah-Chatham County Public School System spokesperson, taunting and shoving ensued following the completion of a play. Coaches and referees intervened, but four Beach players and one Savannah High player were ejected.
The ejections led to an argument between the coaches, according to the report. The remainder of the game was canceled.
The spokesperson said, "The conduct of the players was handled in accordance with the SCCPSS Code of Conduct and GHSA rules for athletic participation in sporting events."
