(WHTM) -- Everyone knows who will be taking the first snap for the Nittany Lions when they take on the Nevada Wolfpack in the season opener.

However, it seems up in the air yet who will be backing up quarterback Drew Allar.

"I think we're at that point, we are planning on sitting down with those guys today and have not had that conversation with them yet, so I'd like to do that first," Penn State's Head Football Coach James Franklin said during Monday's press conference.

Those backups are redshirt sophomores Jaxon Smolik and Jack Lambert, redshirt freshman Ethan Grunkemeyer and freshman Bekkem Kritza. It has been a close competition between them as neither one looks to be the clear favorite.
