PONCHATOULA, La. (WVUE) - After the explosion of the Smitty’s Supply warehouse in Roseland, officials are starting to put into scope the environmental impacts.

One of the major concerns for Tangipahoa communities is potential harm to the waterways. On Monday, oily sheens began showing up in the Tangipahoa River near Ponchatoula, noticed by residents.

There are booming operations underway, but there is also much concern.
