CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - A jury has found Andrew Shaw guilty of murder in the second degree for orchestrating the 2018 killing of Chris Bagley.

Shaw, a convicted drug dealer serving about an eight-year sentence, was accused of paying two men, Drew Blahnik and Drew Wagner, to kill Bagley.

The jury heard several witness testimonies over nearly three weeks, including testimony from Bagley’s widow and the two men who did the job.

The prosecution said Shaw had Bagley killed after Bagley attacked and stole from him. One witness, a friend of Bagley’s who watched him die, said he and Bagley robbed and beat Shaw months before Bagley was killed. Shaw told officers, even though he had asked people to “beat up” Bagley, he never made any kind of agreement with anybody to kill him.
