Rapper Lil Nas X was charged Monday in connection with an early morning altercation with a Los Angeles police officer last week .

The 26-year-old "Old Town Road" rapper, whose legal name is Montrero Hill, was charged three counts of battery with injury on a peace officer and resisting executive officer in the complaint filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

LAPD officers encountered Hill after responding at about 6 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, to reports of a naked man in the 11000 block of Ventura Boulevard in the San Fernando Valley community. Video published by TMZ showed a man, identified as Lil Nas X, wearing only white underwear and cowboy boots in the middle of a street.
