RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A rideshare driver was shot Saturday night after he picked up a passenger in Richmond's East End. Police say the alleged shooter is facing multiple charges.

At 11:39 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to the 800 block of Old Denny Street for the report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a person who reported that a male he knew had fired shots while in the street.

Two minutes later, police said another caller reported that an injured driver was parked in the 2700 block of East Main Street. When officers arrived, they found two men -- the driver and passenger -- in the vehicle.

Police said the driver had an apparent gunshot wound and was taken to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. Th
