Some students in Cherokee County, North Carolina are having the start of the new school year delayed this week.
Monday, August 25 is the first day of school for Cherokee County students; however, Ranger Elementary was closed and it will remain closed on Tuesday, August 26.
The school is closed due to an ongoing facility issue, according to a post on Facebook .
The post states, “We are working diligently to resolve the situation and will continue to keep families updated on when normal school operations will resume.”
Administrators did not release details about the facility issue.
