SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Fall semester officially kicked off at San Diego State University on Monday, welcoming new students, new experiences and even a new degree in artificial intelligence.

SDSU's College of Arts and Letters has added a new option for students in the form of a Bachelor of Science degree in Artificial Intelligence and Human Responsibility.

According to the university, the degree is meant to teach students how to understand and use AI in an "ethical and sustainable manner." Upon graduating, students with the degree will be able to use hands-on skills such as proficiency in tools such as Python and GIS, and enter careers in technology, policymaking, and social impact among others.
