Police at the University of Arkansas responded to multiple reports of an active shooter Monday on the school’s campus in Fayetteville, but they said they didn't find a shooter or any victims.

What we know:

At 12:43 p.m. local time, the school sent out an emergency alert on social media and other outlets warning people to avoid the area of Mullins Library due to reports of an active shooter.

The school urged people to "Avoid. Deny. Defend."

About an hour later, the school sent out an emergency update saying there are "multiple reports" around campus, again urging students to "Avoid. Deny. Defend."
