Oregon will face a familiar quarterback in its season opener with Montana State.

The Bobcats named former Stanford quarterback Justin Lamson starter for Saturday’s game against the No. 7 Ducks.

Lamson started in a 42-6 loss to the Ducks at Stanford on Sept. 30, 2023, when he was 11 of 20 for 106 yards and had 22 carries for 32 yards, including four sacks. Saturday (1 p.m., Big Ten Network) will be his first game at Autzen Stadium.

“I think the biggest thing with Oregon is they got athletes,” Lamson said on Monday . “I think any team at that level is going to have some guys there that can go. It’ll be a good challenge for us and (I’m) looking forward to playing those guys there.”
