LINCOLN COUNTY, Ore. - A routine traffic stop last Tuesday led to significant drug and weapon charges for a Benton County man.
According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped Randy Dean Manns, 56, of Alsea, on Aug. 19 for expired registration. Manns attempted to evade law enforcement by pulling into a private space and exiting his vehicle.
Manns was cited, and his vehicle was impounded. During an inventory search, deputies discovered drug paraphernalia. Manns, who is on probation, was detained, and a detainer was issued by his parole officer. A subsequent search warrant revealed a loaded handgun, several ounces of methamphetamine, and evidence of drug manufacturing and distribution.
Manns is now facing additional charges, including unlawful possession and manufacture
