NEEDLES — San Bernardino County officials have identified the two people killed in the crash of a small aircraft at the Needles Airport last month.

According to San Bernardino County Coroner's Office supervisor Sherri Hill, pilots Uchitha Gamage and Syed Ashraf died when the 1965 Piper PA-28-180 crashed and burst into flames just off the runway at the airport five miles south of Needles at about 9:24 p.m. on July 13. ×
