Several IRS tax credits that put money back in the pockets of eco-friendly Americans will be eliminated due to the passage of President Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill.
The eight credits — which all fall into the energy efficiency and clean energy categories — have had their terminations accelerated by language in the bill, which was signed into law on July 4.
The following credits will be eliminated in the coming months as a result of the legislation, according to the IRS website.
New clean vehicle credit (Code Section 30D): The credit will not be allowed for any vehicle acquired after Sept. 30, 2025.
Previously-owned clean vehicles credit (Code Section 25E): The credit will not be allowed with respect to any vehicle acquired after Sept. 30, 2025.
