RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A 33-year-old Richmond man is dead after he was found shot inside a Richmond home early Saturday morning.

At 6:48 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to the 3400 block of Chamberlayne Avenue for a report of a person shot.

When they arrived, they found 33-year-old Gilberto DeJesus, III of Richmond inside a residence. He had been shot.

DeJesus was taken to a local hospital, where he later died on Sunday, Aug. 24.

The investigation into this shooting is ongoing.
