MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota’s political leaders headlined the Democratic National Committee summer meeting Monday morning, with a surprise appearance from state Sen. John Hoffman, who was shot in June in an assassination attempt.

Ken Martin, longtime DFL leader and now DNC chair, brought the annual party delegate meeting to his home state at the Hilton in Minneapolis. Martin was elected to the DNC in February , taking the reins as the Democrat party seeks to recover from its losses last November.
