CO Troy Fondie (Orr) reports outdoor activity continued to slow and phone calls at all hours have again become common as the fall seasons are upon us.

CO Sean Cannon (Cook) monitoring bear-baiting activity and reports that because berries and other natural food sources are still abundant, bears might not yet be as cooperative as last year.

CO Aaron Larson (Tower) investigated complaints in state parks, including illegal camping, prohibited firewood and a dog off leash. Checks on anglers resulted in license violations and safety equipment violations.

CO Marc Johnson (Hibbing) reports tower temperature and wind over the weekend led to a reduction in recreational activity. Hunters who drew a bear tag reported a lot of activity around their bait sites.
